Our team has officially filed Karl W Hoffmann Jr. v Ashta Chemicals, Inc. in Franklin County, Ohio.

Over decades of operation, thousands of pounds of mercury were utilized to create chlorine. Our lawsuit is seeking justice for individuals, and their families, who suffered injuries due to mercury exposure while employed by the Ashta Chemicals, Inc. We aim to hold the responsible parties accountable, get justice for the victims, and advocate for improved safety measures in the workplace.

Ohio Mercury Litigation

For most of the operational history of this plant, hundreds of workers have been exposed to mercury. These exposures come not only from working at the plant but may also inadvertently follow employees home. Toxic levels of mercury can be brought home on contaminated clothing and other materials that come in contact with their families.

Often, symptoms may take months or years to develop. These symptoms are from continuous low-dose exposures to mercury over long periods of time, as are often the case during plant operations. However, symptoms can develop almost immediately from short-term high-dose exposures. These high-dose exposures most often occur during upset conditions at the plant. These conditions often require a normally closed mercury system to be opened up.
